The Manta Ray Barge departs from Inskip Point and drops off at Hook Point (the most southern tip of the island). The first barge departs at 6.30am from Rainbow Beach and the last barge at 5pm from Rainbow and 5.15pm from Fraser Island. Although they go back and forth all day and the crossing only takes 15 minutes there can be long waits.Book a barge from Rainbow beach
arriving onto the island from Hervey bay
The Fraser Venture and Kingfisher Barge that depart from River Heads are a little more restricting when planning your travels to Fraser Island as this barge only offers limited departure times. It is VERY IMPORTANT to book these barges in advance as they can get very busy. You can check the barge times and make a booking HERE.BOOK A barge from hervey bay
